Exhibitions

Met up with Lee theng this morning to go for the OSEA exhibition. Saw our NYP lecturer Mr Quek while we were on our way there. Next we saw another familiar face from far!!Looks like the younger version of Mr Goh.... As usual outing with li ting will bring continuous laughter thru out the day.... you will know why later.

Timing was so perfect. The train stopped at Marina bay for about 5min and he called up. I was so afraid that the PA system will spoils our plan anytime. I lied that I was working and even challenged him to talk to loh yun to prove I'm at work. When he asked how come I send him 'Why? U nv go there for excursion ar? Haha.' out of sudden..I thought my explanation going to end this prank. He accepted my explanation even when i kept erm..eh...I'm not a prof con woman like cow girl! haha.. I have to say that timing for liting to call cody was perfect. Coz the PA system sound came out to prove liting indeed was inside the train.. haha..

She keep insisting Cody's phone got problem because he received the same msg from two different sender. Oh well. Your good friend LT's idea. =)

Goodbye November

November ended faster than I expect. So does how the time works.

Had a great day with my 2 nephews and a niece in Jurong Island. Rare chance to have small kids here, so I apply for permit to bring them to visit my workplace. It's actually 3 millions safe man hours celebration cum Family day.

As we need to catch the co. transport, these kids got to wake up early.

26th Nov supposed to work morning coz OT but gave it to others. Don't wish to ill treat myself with work all the time especially when there's appointment with old friends/buddies. Melvin, Xuefen and me. 3 of us only but brought back alot of fond memories back in those school days when I was in the symphonic band. Melvin shared with us alot of stuffs that xuefen and me don't know haha....As promised, this dinner was on me as I last min fly aeroplane on the 6th nov.

Really glad to have them back in my life coz believe it or not, back in school days I wasn't interested in academic, or put it in a nicer way priority goes to my CCA followed by studies. Most of the memories back in sec school days are with them and the grp of sisters that are with me now.

For the past 2o years of my life, I have actually wrote Yellow wrongly


Was teaching my niece how to write her chinese name and realised that the way she wrote her surname was different from mine. Then my sis-in-law told me that Huang should have extra line coming out from the word tian 田 . So for the past 20 years of my life, I wrote my surname wrongly or is it both way also can? Tr Liting, qin jie da haha =)

My niece is only 6 years old. She knows my chinese name but somehow she forgotten my name. She even said I'm Huang Gu Gu (how niece/nephew address their father's sibling) Dotz....
Then she explored my wallet and found my identity card. There she goes, Huang.. we shared the same surname, she asked me how to pronounce the 2nd word of my name. When comes to the last word, she's quite confident and pronounced it as 海 (Hai/sea) when it is supposed to be Mei 梅). 海 and 梅 haha, 有邊讀邊, 沒邊讀旁邊 .

Studies...

If I can invest my money now and have let say 5 times return, I would probably have enough money to go overseas for further studies =)

Ex-chemist from my co. opted for that route. 1 year overseas education will give you a Degree cert. Oh well, seriously it's very tempting. On the other hand, not many ppl will respect that kind of 1 year degree. Seriously I don't know how a year education can be compared to Singapore 4 years of edu in order to achieve the degree cert. Maybe I've yet to meet one that makes me positive abt getting degree overseas ba. Being in this industries for a year plus, realized that change is constant.. to the extend you might be dissapointed with one when one becomes the management. Oh well, meybe I've yet to meet good examples so sound abit negative.. maybe that's life.

I've also decided to give a shot to try the NUS B-tech programme if let say the mgmt approve. Hope that they alright to give in to me coz I also help them to complete the pj when there's no QA specialist to cover the ENV monitoring job. Wishful thinking hor..haha...
Not able to attend the Nov - Dec's math prog for the foundation so hopefullyJan-Feb one can attend coz it's next year. If I were to change team AGAIN, it will be unfair for some. Aiyah worst come to worst find other jobs ba...coz current savings think enough for the B-Tech course if govt subsidies are still available and most impt if I can get in to this course. Need to go thru the interview not as easy as I thought!

November is here....Goodbye to October! I've learnt quite a lot during October at work which I've missed out during July and August while having Micro Pj on hands. Hope for a fruitful November month like cutting the column, troubleshooting the GCs although I love the LC more.. Oh ya, this month going for micro training...17-Nov..my off day nvm lah.. can come back for training still get paid is good enough leh....Jia you happy friends Seriously I hope we can meet once a month at least for games/movie/Neoprint coz I don't rem. taking NeoPrint with you guys... Year 1 that time you all took with SH.... I was at CWP playing pool haha. haha...

Mum's Graduation

Last Sunday was Mum's graduation! Mummy signed up for a 90hr lessons together with my 1st and 2nd gugu. Still remember 2 months back, she asked me to teach her how to pronounce some words from the English passage. Haha... For e.g. Same, she pronounced as Sim. Have a bit of hard time trying to correct her pronunciation. Hearing her trying to speak is quite amazing. Coz for the past 20 years of my life, don't really get to hear her speak English. Actually I felt abit weird to teach her pronounciation for well people around me knows that I seems to pronounce words wrongly quite often. Haha...that's when all the laughters started! Coz of me. You guys should thanks me to make you all laugh so much to the extend that helps you to burn calories to maintain your weight huh..

Even at work also... Daphne always call Gordon as Gou Dan (Dog's egg)..There's one incident whereby I was wanted to call him Gou Dan but felt bad and it turns out I pronounced Gou-Den sounds like Golden...sobz my colleagues started to laugh!!

Another time was Cab and Taxi.. Don't know to say Cab or Taxi in the end, words come out from me will be Cabxi. Speaking unclearly is something I wish to kick off but it seems harder and harder to improve my pronounciation.

My colleagues said to me that Ni mei tian dou you bu tong de xiao dian... haha... I wear my shoes and safety boots slanted ma....xie xing..

Recently into Hot Shot.. So far I've watched til episode 14! Abit like slamdunk. My two nephews also watching the drama and we even discussed the scene while having breakfast at Mac. Yup, I brought them for ball games last Monday after having Mac's big breakfast. Missed the time having Mac in Poly. haha....

Happy News

13th Months in the company. After many months of procrastination, I finally have the courage to go for this progression. Progression for my first level. A year plus in this industry [including attachment during poly days], no longer a trainee hee... but still a long way to go ya..

Took an hour to complete this test. I've learnt alot during this progression as Boss [examiner ha ha] furnish me with more knowledge throughout the whole session. Not too sure was it too long for my case, some took twice half an hour interval each...Manage to pass this progression for the first try due luck and hardwork =) Yippee. Despite some hiccups here and there, I guessed my performance overall was satisfactory ha ha...

I don't denied the fact at times my learning curve slowed down due to complacency. Regretted some decisions I've made too.... Blame it on myself for being too playful haha. but too serious at work also boring leh. In life, you gained some, you will lose some... so alright la =)

Heard that the micro training for analysis of water/swab will be conducted by SGS's microbiologist... wat a small world..[Poly attachment place] Hope that can go for this training during shutdown period, best time to absorb new things as lesser workload lesser stress... woohoo...

I am also into Rabbids recently. Especially after the Wii sessions with trio and Mandy's sister. Wii correct pronounciation is Y-I . Why I. something like that. Seems like many of us followed Taiwanese way of pronouncing it as Wee..haha. True enough Y-I sounds cooler than Wee.



I took the opportunity of my off days to explore this game. Single player have to break 12000 pts in order to break the highest record and unlock the new clothing for the characters. lolx...I have the potential to be a gamer too. lolx... Reminds me of what my 1st bro said back in Aug. Lend her to play DS for a day, she break all the highest score record. wee wee..

Playing Wii with the same age group is better. Playing with small kids look stupid coz they are too pro unless you can beat them, they'll look up on you. I told Mandy that the small kids will open their mouth when the Rabbids in the games are drinking... Anticipation I guess. Cute and funny lolx..

Time to plan for the next step. Enough of fooling around....time to step forward to the next stone. Move on....

A year .... so fast

Time flies huh..In this technical line for a year plus. So far so good, although working life, we can't avoid to have a little politics here and there. Seeing people joining and leaving becomes a norm, 2 IA students left us on the 15-Aug. 2 young kids who make the environment more lively. Happy with their performance, glad that you guys really learnt a lot from the process chemist. Lucky you! lol...

Lame huh...but you can't deny the fact that it's because of these silly lame jokes that make the working day seems short.

I've been busy for the past 2 months, taking extra duties really make me kind lack of rest, need to follow up with results, report to mgr etc.... then for the month of August is to vomit out the things that I've learnt to the new colleague. hm...oh well!

For the month of August, the most fulfilling thing I've accomplished...brought my niece and nephews to Night Safari. Night Safari outing with my colleagues, guess that all of us really enjoy the companies of the 3 kids, who brought us laughter with their silly actions. I was perspiring throughout the whole trip; chasing after the 2 little boys as they are running and walking way too fast than the adults plus my niece keep asking me to carry her. In the end, 2 out of 3 kids doze off during the animal show [too tired haha]. Then need to trouble my colleague to carry one of the boy for me. One good way to lose weight is to look after small kids..haha

First visit to The Arena @ Clarke Quay, I likes the live band it's really nice. If I were to visit that place again, I will bring my ear plugs along to reduce the chances of me going deaf @ young age hahaha..

QA Team Building

Last year, Daphne and I was the 'organiser' for QA team building. We played paintball which we split into 2 groups. It turns out to be a painful experience as many of us left the warzone with small bruises/ blue black lol. Not all are happy about the games esp the ex-female colleague of ours. lolx..

This year, both of us suggested a few activities like Forest Adventure / chalet etc...due to unforeseen circumstances that the shutdown period is less than a day, we ended up going to ECP for cycling instead.

Never did I expect the IA students to plan team building games for us. I personally finds that it is a successful one compared to last year. One team not two this time round. Although the games that we played are simple like passing rubber bands using toothpick / Frisbee / guessing games / dog and bone / last obstacles which was held at the fitness corner/ walking in a straight line after turning 5 rounds....etc

simple games yet bring lots of laughter and definitely a day to remember! Not to forget some of the ideas from my outside circles also contributed to this team building activities.

Cycled from one end to the other, not too sure is it because the bicycle is good or what, all of us don't feel the ache at our thighs. Missed cycling so much. Still remember that day I got my 'cyclist license' was during class bbq at ECP back in 2006. Finally break zero for cycling in the year 2008.

It's only when you are thankful with what you have and count blessings, you've learnt to appreciate the little things in life =) Maybe...

Wondering how my other friends did for this IQ test. Well, this test was introduce by the IA gal. Nice and cute girl to be with, brightens up the dull life in the lab ha ha. 1st week of July has gone, someone said that I worked like a mule? 7 Days don't stop. Luckily out of these 7 days, 4 days are 12hours, 2 days worked till 5pm only and last one is cater for the assignment that was given to me which is to do Environment samplings while waiting for the new QA specialist to be in by mid july.


Farewell dinner was at Kushinbo, my first time there. So cool! Simply loves the kushinbo songs.. dom dom dom 1 2 3....We (steph, IA stud and me) arrived late as we decided to get geraldine some stuffs as farewell gift. So... in the end, the 4 of us were being splitted into 2 grp. Steph and me shared table with Plant Mgr and a/c mgr....Had a great time there, thanks the a/c mgr to give up his seat for swee fong the IA gal! We were greedy to bring back loads of cute desserts, couldn't finished it so play games to let loser eat the balance desserts on the plate.

The youngest group for this farewell dinner, I supposed we made a lot of noise over there. Other colleagues was curious at what we are playing. Then dave said that, these girls are trying to finish the food as there's a surcharge of $2/200gm. haha.. We didn't realize it actually. Amazed that he actually took the effort to read the terms and conditions..

Some of the funny encounters over there was....

At the restaurant/eating house.

Their usual practise is to use the first serving of tea/water to rinse the utensils. So...the three of us didn't know that we need to rinse the utensil before use. One of my friend was thirsty and drank the first serving of water....Disgusting? haha...she's still alive don't worry haha, don't remember that she got diarrhea during the HK trip. Both of them suffer from constipation somemore..gosh! Despite eating the big banana bought from the fruit stall downstair, the output is much more lesser than the input. lolx..

Went to the temple to pray. Very crowded maybe it's because weekend? Some unpleasant encounter was with the elderly over there. Some are very fierce especially when they speak their dialect/language.

We went to another temple on the 4th day. Then proceed to the Peak. Love the weather there, so cold!! The pic on top a bit similar to douby ghaut except that it's like 3 times bigger.

Took train and then bus to reach the Peak. One of the tourist attractions. Very cold and windy....

Took the tram and guess what, we missed out the museum. haha.. so only have one pic with this hm... famous guy. hmm.. don't ask me what's his name, wo ye bu zhi dao.
